The famous Alanya Castle, Cleopatra Beach and the harbour are a short drive east, while inland trips to Dim Cave and the Sapadere Canyon are easy half-day outings by transfer. The growing residential side of town means new shops and small parks keep appearing, and the surrounding hills offer pleasant drives through citrus groves. Payallar sits on the western side of Alanya, which makes the airport choice a closer call than you might expect. Antalya Airport (AYT) is around 110km away, a roughly two-hour run down the D400 coastal highway past Side and the western resorts. Gazipasa-Alanya Airport (GZP) is nearer at about 50km, but the drive there loops past central Alanya, so factor in town traffic in high season. For most travellers flying in on a charter, AYT is the practical gateway; if your flight lands at GZP, that works well too. Either way the road is smooth dual carriageway most of the way.
