It begins right where Damlataş Cave ends, on the western side of the peninsula, and carries on past the hotel streets of Saray. Cave, Castle And The City Edge

The obvious first outing needs no transport at all. Damlataş Cave sits at the end of the beach where the sand meets the castle peninsula, so you can simply walk there along the shore. Above it rises the peninsula that holds Alanya castle, the landmark that divides this western beach from the rest of the city. Central Alanya is only about 1.8 km away in a straight line, close enough that the shops and restaurants of town become part of everyday life here rather than a special trip. Back on the water, parasailing gives you a view of the coast from above, while jet skis and pedal boats suit shorter bursts of activity. And if the Cleopatra legend appeals, you are already in the right place: tradition says she swam right here.

This is not a strip of big all-inclusive resorts. The area is mostly apart-hotels, mid-size city hotels and holiday apartments within walking distance of the beach, and OpenStreetMap shows more than 50 hotels and apart-hotels in Kızlar Pınarı alone. On Saray addresses you will find Kleopatra Saray Hotel, about a 3-minute walk from the sand, along with Kleopatra South Star, Gallion Hotel, Kleopatra Ada Beach Hotel and Xperia Grand Bali. In neighbouring Kızlar Pınarı sit Kleopatra Arsi Hotel, Kleopatra Fatih, Kleopatra Life Hotel & Spa and Kleopatra Royal Palm. The area suits independent travellers, couples and families who like to eat out, walk to the beach and dip into town, as well as longer-stay guests renting a flat. One word of warning: so many hotels carry the Kleopatra name that it pays to give the full one when you book.

Living On The Western Side Of Town

Life here is city life, so getting around is more about walking than driving. The beach, the hotel streets of Saray and Kızlar Pınarı and Damlataş Cave are all close together, and central Alanya is about 1.8 km away in a straight line. The D400 coastal highway runs through Alanya and is the road your transfer uses in both directions, whether you are heading for Gazipaşa or back towards Antalya. For the return, work backwards from your flight: allow about 45 minutes of driving for Gazipaşa and about 1 hour 45 minutes for Antalya, then add time for check-in. Travelling with small children? And with so many hotels sharing similar names, giving the exact hotel name and street helps your driver find the right door first time.

Gazipaşa Is The Short Hop Here

For Kleopatra Beach the choice of airport makes a real difference. Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) is 45 km away by road, about 45 minutes along the D400 coastal highway. Antalya Airport (AYT) is 126 km away, which works out at roughly 1 hour 45 minutes, so if you are still comparing flights, Gazipaşa saves a long stretch of road. If Antalya suits you better, the longer ride is still a simple one, because the D400 follows the coast the whole way to Alanya. At either airport your driver waits in arrivals holding a sign with your name, and the vehicle is yours alone, with no stops for other passengers. Flights are tracked, so a late landing does not leave you stranded. And because the hotels here stand in the ordinary streets of Saray and Kızlar Pınarı rather than behind resort gates, you are taken straight to your own entrance.
